Squid Game Season 3 Netflix’s biggest hit just gave us a sneak peek at its final season, and it’s coming this June. Remember Gi-hun, aka Player 456? Last time we saw him, he tried to take down the deadly Squid Game from the inside. Well, guess what? His rebellion flopped, and the new teaser shows him waking up in the creepy lobby all over again.
The teaser doesn’t spoil much (it’s a teaser, after all), but it does reveal a new game. Players pick colored balls from a giant vending machine to split into teams—blue or red. And in classic Squid Game fashion, it’s brutal: sweet mom Geum-ja gets a red ball, while her goofy son Yong-sik ends up on the blue team. Ouch. We all know this won’t end well, but why must they hurt us like this?
A few other tidbits: The detective who spent last season failing to find Squid Game Island finally stumbles onto it (better late than never, right?). And the rich, masked VIPs are back, lounging around like they own the place—which, technically, they do. Typical rich people behavior: show up late and act like they’re the main characters.
The teaser ends with a baby crying, which could mean pregnant contestant Park Mi-yeong had her kid. Is it a happy moment? Probably not, since Squid Game isn’t exactly baby-friendly. But who knows? Maybe she made it out alive with a pile of cash. A girl can dream.
Season 3 is set to be huge. Squid Game Season 2 was Netflix’s second most-watched non-English show ever—right behind Season 1. This might be the end of the series, but rumors about an American version are already swirling. For now, though, get ready for one last bloody round when the show drops on June 27.
(And yes, we’re emotionally preparing ourselves for the inevitable tragedy.)
