Millions of Pilgrims Gather at Day of Arafat
June 5, 2025 Day of Arafat Today marks a deeply spiritual and emotional moment for Muslims across the world, as millions of Hajj pilgrims have arrived at Maidan-e-Arafat to perform Waqoof-e-Arafa, the most important ritual of Hajj.

A Day of Prayer and Reflection
The “Standing at Arafat,” or Waqoof-e-Arafa, is regarded as the pinnacle of the Hajj pilgrimage. Pilgrims will spend the entire day in prayers, supplication, and recitation of Talbiyah, seeking forgiveness and closeness to Allah. The Hajj sermon will be delivered at Masjid-e-Namirah and broadcast in multiple languages, including Urdu, to reach pilgrims from all over the world. Zohr and Asr prayers will be offered together, following the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
Top Officials Inspect Arrangements at Arafat
To ensure a smooth and safe experience for all pilgrims, Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Tawfiq Al-Rabiah, and Minister of Health, Fahad AlJalajel, conducted an inspection visit to Arafat on Wednesday. The ministers reviewed the preparedness of: Pilgrim accommodation camps Health and emergency services Technical and logistical facilities This visit is part of broader efforts to maintain high service standards and support pilgrims in fulfilling their rituals with ease and comfort.
Cooling & Shading Project Near Namirah Mosque
The 85,000 square metre shade and cooling project around Masjid-e-Namirah is one of the most noteworthy improvements this year.
Key features include:
- 320 canopies for shade
- 350 misting fans for cooling
- 2,000 trees planted for greenery
- Fully equipped water and electricity infrastructure for sustainability
These improvements are designed to help pilgrims stay safe and comfortable during the long hours of worship under the sun.
